3rd to 11th July 2026

Jersey Opera House

Welcome to the Rock! The musical Come from Away is based on the events in the Newfoundland town of Gander during the week following the 9/11 attacks, when 38 planes, carrying approximately 7,000 passengers, were ordered to land unexpectedly at Gander International Airport. The 16 principal characters in this upbeat musical are based on actual Gander residents and stranded travellers that they housed and fed. The show amusingly, reminds us of the power of kindness, the strength found in community and the ability to find light in the darkest of times, transcending religious, ethnic and sexual differences. Released in 2015 on Broadway and the West End, the show enjoyed tremendous critical acclaim, being nominated and winner of many awards. Although is a single set, the staging is very cleverly thought out and use of props and artistic interpretation a joy to watch, while the catchy, musical numbers just carry you along on the journey. Join us here, on the edge of the world.
