Gareth told the JEP that it was a very family-friendly show and completely smut free. “We are trying hard to hit that happy medium – it is aimed at intelligent eight-year-olds and adults. There is a lot of local humour, a bit of slap-stick and some song and dance. We also have a magic fridge, which sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t.”

Gareth praised his cast, who he said have been working very hard in the past few weeks. We have some very strong characters including our Queen Rat, played by Debbie Taylor and Ian Barette plays the dame beautifully – his first time in such a role. There is some very strong rapport between our principals, especially the love interest between Dick (played by Kelly Box) and Alice Fitzwarren (Jennie Crocker) and they compliment each other well. The cat, played by David Scott, is based on Top Cat and he’s a talking cynic who sees the world for what it is.
