The Snow Queen
Jersey Arts Centre, January '22
Original script by Alan P Frayne, directed by Debbie Taylor
After a very difficult time for theatre, particularly with the postponement of the panto the previous year due to COVID, the JADC were delighted to bring The Snow Queen to the Jersey Arts Centre stage.
"As Director I have worked with the playwright Alan Frayn to produce a shortened version of this fun family production without removing the true essence of pantomime.
Unfortunately some of the original cast couldn’t continue this year due to other commitments, but this gave other JADC members the chance to take part. We have all been working hard since October 2021, with lateral flow tests, hand sanitising and mask-wearing becoming second nature as we strove to keep ourselves safe.
My thanks goes to everyone involved in putting this show together, all the cast, the production team, the chaperones and other JADC members who have given their time and skills in any way, however small, as well as to Daniel Austin and his team for his continued support of JADC.
It’s time to forget Covid and be transported northwards to Copenhagen and the magical
world created by Hans Christian Anderson. Boo the baddies, cheer the goodies, laugh at the
cheesy jokes and help Gerda on her way to rescue Kai from the Snow Queen."...
